Abstract

Abstract: Boundaries between adjacent real properties provide the basis for
determining each property’s location and dimensions, as well as delineating the surface,
space, and subsurface of one property from another. Therefore, accurately defining such
boundaries is critical for clarifying each owner’s rights and resolving disputes over
encroachment or occupation. Although current law recognizes certain grounds for
establishing property boundaries, further clarification is required to enhance legal
certainty and improve law enforcement in this area.
