Abstract

Abstract: Cassation is a special form of judicial supervision exercised by the
courts, tasked with identifying and quashing final, legally effective judgments or
decisions where there are grounds to believe that a serious error of law has occurred.
This article analyses the authority of the Cassation Panel to annul such judgments and
decisions under Viet Nam’s criminal procedure law and offers recommendations to
improve the governing legal framework.
