Responsibilities of organizations and individuals regarding the protection of consumers' personal information in electronic commerce
Abstract
In the context of rapid development of science and technology, particularly the global
expansion of the Internet environment, the use of electronic websites by organizations and individuals
to conduct transactions has become increasingly widespread. Most consumers choose to transact on
e-commerce websites because this method brings many conveniences. Along with the conveniences,
transactions through e-commerce websites also pose many risks that need attention, such as consumer
personal information being leaked, bought and sold, or used illegally. To limit these risks, the article
focuses on analyzing the responsibilities of organizations and individuals in protecting consumers’
personal information in electronic commerce, thereby proposing solutions to improve legislation.
