About the Journal

1. Introduction to OmonRice Journal

OmonRice is a national agricultural journal specializing in crops and related issues such as agronomy, fertilizers, and soil science. OmonRice is developed and managed by the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Cuu Long Delta Rice Research Institute.

OmonRice is the only journal in Vietnam publishing both fundamental and applied research, featuring works with novelty and uniqueness in content focusing on rice and other crops. The journal is published entirely in English. OmonRice is developed with the objective of becoming a leading national journal in agricultural sciences. Authors publishing in OmonRice retain ownership and other related rights in accordance with the law and are free to distribute and disseminate their works.

 

Scope of Publication: The fields of interest covered by OmonRice include:

a) Genetics and Plant Breeding: Studies on genetics, plant breeding, evolution and conservation of genetic resources, trait domestication, gene function, and mechanisms of resistance to pests, diseases, and environmental stresses;

b) Biotechnology: Research on gene transformation, gene expression and gene silencing, GMOs, gene editing, gene function, and applications of biotechnology in developing processes and products for agricultural use;

c) Cropping Systems: Studies on cropping systems for rice and rice-based crops, fertilizer regimes, soil fertility, and mineral nutrition;

d) Plant Protection: Research on plant protection, plant diseases, insects, biological control, and ecological farming technologies;

e) Agricultural Economics and Post-harvest Technology: Studies on the economics and efficiency of agricultural production, and socio-economic models promoting sustainable agricultural development.

The content of OMONRICE is managed by the Editorial Board and supported by experts participating in the peer-review process. The Editorial Board members and reviewers of OMONRICE are leading experts in relevant agricultural fields.

The managing institution is the Cuu Long Delta Rice Research Institute, under the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences – Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

 2. Conditions for Publication in OmonRice

Authors submitting manuscripts must ensure that similar data of the work have not been submitted or published elsewhere. A declaration confirming that all authors agree to the publication of the work in OMONRICE is required.

OMONRICE will check for duplication of content, text, images, or any details of the manuscript using specialized plagiarism detection software to ensure that published works do not overlap with any content from other national or international journals or publishers.

3. Reviewers and Peer-review Mechanism

Manuscripts submitted to OMONRICE will be reviewed by one or two experts in the relevant field. Reviewers will provide comments to the Editorial Board, which will decide whether to:

  • Accept the manuscript for publication;
  • Request revisions before publication; or
  • Reject the manuscript.
