Abstract

This article examines the political and cultural contributions of Do Nhuan (1446 – ?), a distinguished scholar-official during the Le So dynasty, with a particular focus on the Thien Nam du ha tap, an important compilation of imperial regulations and administrative codes. Through biographical study, analysis of literary works, and textual research, the article clarifies Do Nhuann’s central role in shaping early Hong Duc scholarship. It also discusses the complex textual history of Thien Nam du ha tap, tracing its presence in various historical chronicles and evaluating its significance as a primary source on Vietnamese imperial institutions
