THE CULTURAL SPACE OF SOUTHERN VIETNAM IN ĐI VÀ GHI NHỚ BY SON NAM

Abstract

This article approaches Sơn Nam’s “Đi và ghi nhớ” from a local cultural perspective, thereby clarifying its thematic and artistic values. The work emerges as a cultural space of Southern Vietnam through its system of place names, heritage, and folk life rich in historical depth, reflecting the adaptability and cultural hybridity of its inhabitants. Artistically, the combination of narrative and scholarship makes cultural knowledge accessible while maintaining its reliability. In the contemporary context, “Đi và ghi nhớ” functions as a means of preserving cultural memory, contributing to the consolidation of identity and affirming the role of literature in safeguarding local cultural values.
