Developing a digital learning resource repository for teaching grade 8 history in lower secondary schools
Abstract
In response to the requirements of digital transformation in education and the orientation toward developing students’ competencies—especially digital competence and self-study skills—the construction of a digital learning resource repository for teaching History at lower secondary schools has become essential. In actual Grade 8 History teaching, learning materials remain monotonous; teachers lack a centralized digital space and still face difficulties in using technology, while students need to access knowledge through more visual and interactive formats. This study shows that designing and implementing the website “Digital Learning Resource Repository for Grade 8 History” with a diverse system of materials (texts, images, videos, interactive games, practice questions, etc.), organized according to the lessons/topics of the curriculum, helps teachers easily select and use resources; at the same time, it contributes to increasing students’ learning motivation, improving their achievement in Grade 8 History, and developing their self-study capacity and digital skills at the lower secondary level.
