The Integration of Human Rights Education into the History Pedagogy Curriculum at Hanoi Metropolitan University

Abstract

Human rights are natural, inherent and objective rights of human beings, which always need to be properly perceived and respected to build a humane and progressive society. Gender equality is an important right in human rights and society needs to fight for real gender equality in society. Integrating human rights education through providing historical knowledge including events related to the struggle for gender equality in the early 20th century in the subject of Modern Vietnamese History for History pedagogy students is necessary because human rights education is an activity with the purpose of bringing awareness of human rights so that people can protect their own rights and respect the rights of others. Gender equality education through connecting historical knowledge from the 20th century with practical events of the 21st century society when studying specialized knowledge for History students at Hanoi Capital University is an issue that needs attention and application.
