Dramatizing human rights education: a new perspective at Nguyen Du secondary school, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi City
Abstract
Human rights education in primary and secondary schools is a mandatory task in the current phase, requiring innovative educational methods to achieve practical effectiveness. At Nguyen Du Secondary School, Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi, the dramatization method has been implemented as a creative approach to enhance students' awareness and skills regarding human rights. The implementation process consists of three main steps: script development, dramatization practice, and evaluation. The results indicate that this method not only improves awareness but also helps students develop critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills. However, the replication of this model faces several challenges, such as limited resources, accessibility issues, and evaluation criteria. To address these challenges, the authors propose several solutions, including enhancing teachers' professional capacity in dramatization and human rights education, seeking funding and optimizing resources, and developing a set of evaluation criteria for effective application. These proposals pave the way for scaling up the dramatization model in human rights education for secondary school students nationwide, contributing to improving the quality of education and raising human rights awareness in the national education system.
