Developing integrated lesson plans on local education and experiential learning for primary students in Hanoi based on the backward design model
Abstract
This article presents the process of developing integrated lesson plans that combine local education themes and experiential learning activities for primary education in Hanoi, based on the Backward Design model. Grounded in a competency-based approach and the comprehensive development goals outlined in the 2018 General Education Curriculum, this study analyzes the concepts, characteristics of the experiential and local education programs, organizational principles, and the flexibility of implementation in practical contexts. The Backward Design model is applied to clearly define learning goals, assessment evidence, and aligned instructional activities, ensuring integration, feasibility, and relevance to the local context. The research outcomes provide both theoretical and practical foundations to support teachers and schools in effectively planning and delivering lessons that promote experiential competence and community engagement among primary school students.
