Activities under Vietnam’s 2018 general education curriculum: Review and discussion

Abstract
Vietnam’s 2018 General Education Curriculum - comprising the overarching curriculum framework and 27 subject-specific curricula issued by the Ministry of Education and Training in December 2018 - emphasizes experiential learning as a compulsory component across all education levels. However, challenges remain in determining time allocation, providing clear regulations and guidance on content, methods, and modalities for implementing and developing experiential activities at general education institutions. This paper revisits and discusses these challenges and proposes several recommendations to ensure that experiential learning activities are implemented in line with their intended nature, purposes, significance, and effectiveness.
