THE SYMBOLISTIC WORLD IN HAN KANG'S VEGETARIAN
Abstract
The article approaches Han Kang's The Vegetarian from a symbolic perspective with the aim of examining and analyzing the layers of meaning of the symbolic system: flesh and blood, dreams, blue birthmarks, vegetarianism and trees. Han Kang has built a system of symbols that are closely related and transform each other. They are used as a unique artistic technique, carrying multi-layered meanings, both traditional and derivative, to convey profound messages about human fate, the conflict between instinct and society, and the journey to find the meaning of existence. Through decoding the main symbols and the connections between them, the study affirms the importance of symbols in literature, opening up an effective approach that contributes to clarifying the author's unique talent, thereby providing a more comprehensive and profound view of the content and artistic value of the work.
