Applying microlearning in innovating teacher education methods: from international practices to implementation orientation at the Faculty of Education – Hanoi Metropolitan Unversity
Abstract
This study surveys, analyzes the current situation and proposes solutions for implementing microlearning at the Faculty of Pedagogy - Hanoi University. The results show that the level of microlearning application is still limited, there is a lack of synchronization between sectors, the capacity of microlearning lesson design of lecturers is not high and the technical infrastructure is not yet met. The study affirms: microlearning has the potential to develop digital pedagogical capacity, and at the same time proposes investment in infrastructure, training of lecturers and perfecting policies for effective implementation. Micro-learning is a short-term learning method, such as online courses, training, seminars, workshops, etc. The principle of micro-learning is also implemented by a short process. Short content duration, short time, moderate knowledge capacity are the criteria that need to be achieved in practicing this method. Therefore, when the current education program aims to develop learners’ qualities and abilities, the use of micro-learning methods integrating digital technology into teaching and learning brings many prospects for innovation in university teaching methods.
