Abstract
The article describles the historical background of Pham Quynh’s discussions
published on Nam phong tap chi, thus highlingting the role of Quốc ngữ in relation to
national studies which have been regarded by Pham Quynh as a crucial topic in his cultural
project. Beshide, the article aims to depect the correlation between Vietnamese and the
destiny of the nation, as well as the important of preserving one’s the mother tongue in his
political project
