Further Discussion on Teaching Foreign Literature by Genre at the Secondary School (Current Situation and Solutions)

Abstract

Foreign literature plays an important role in expanding people's vision and understanding of different cultures. It not only helps discover the customs, traditions and history of ethnic groups, but also stimulates the creativity of each student. Teaching foreign literature by genre helps students develop skills in analyzing literary devices and appreciation, become aware of various styles, themes and cultural contexts, thereby expanding their horizons and improving their critical thinking abilities, stimulate creativity and arouse passion for foreign literature. In short, teaching foreign literature by genre not only enriches knowledge but also comprehensively develops students' thinking and emotional intelligence. This article presents some current situations and proposes solutions for teaching foreign literature by genre at the current secondary level.
