Building a process to assess students' reading literacy competence of literary documents through exploiting materials outside of textbook
Abstract
Based on the theory of building a process for assessing the reading literacy competence of high school students through exploiting data outside of textbooks, practical surveys and teaching practices, we propose a process for assessing the reading literacy competence of literary documents through exploiting materials outside of textbooks. Using literary works outside of textbooks not only helps improve students' reading literacy ability but also develops their ability to relate to reality and creative thinking. These research results show that the proposed process is feasible and is positively evaluated by teachers participating in the survey. The process includes steps from defining goals, selecting document, developing assessment criteria to implementing reading comprehension activities and using diverse assessment tools. The article "Building a process to assess students' reading literacy competence of literary documents through exploiting materials outside of textbooks" contributes to improving the quality of teaching Literature, especially developing students' reading comprehension skills of literary texts.
