Abstract

Nguyen Nhat Anh's Kaleidoscope is a multi-volume narrative that holds a unique position in contemporary Vietnamese children's literature. Not only is it the longest-running novel, but this series also contributes to reconstructing stories that are close and familiar to Vietnamese children and about Vietnamese children themselves. However, there are few studies on Kaleidoscope, and extant studies on it often point out contributions in terms of its theme and content or express personal impressions about certain aspects of the narrative. Its structure as one of the key factors contributing to the timeless appeal of the narrative Kaleidoscope is currently a gap that no research has mentioned. This article applies poetics, narratology, and interdisciplinary methods to point out the unique honeycomb structure of the series Kaleidoscope, hoping to contribute to filling the gap in research on children's stories by Nguyen Nhat Anh.
