Digital transformation in teaching - learning, and assessment: An urgent requirement for improving the quality of human resources

Abstract

In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), digital transformation (DT) has become the core driving force changing the operational structure of higher education. This article focuses on analyzing the current situation and trends in applying digital technology in two key aspects: teaching aids and testing and assessment activities. Using synthetic analysis and comparative methods, the article clarifies the shift from the traditional education model to a smart, personalized education model. The research results indicate that integrating LMS platforms, simulation technology (VR/AR) and artificial intelligence (AI) into testing and assessment not only ensures transparency and objectivity but also helps accurately measure the learner's actual competency. From this, the authors propose solutions regarding policies and infrastructure to improve the quality of human resource training, meeting the requirements of global integration.
