THE ABSURD IN ALBERT CAMUS’S “THE STRANGER”

Abstract

Existentialism is one of the doctrines that has profoundly influenced human ideal in the twentieth century and up to the current day. Albert Camus is a prominent French existentialist philosopher. He paved the way for the literary movement of absurdism and existentialism through a series of famous works, most notably “The Stranger”. Research and study on Albert Camus have been widely conducted around the world, however, in
Vietnam, there have not been many works on existentialism in general and on A.Camus from a philosophical perspective in particular. Therefore, the author seeks to initially research the existentialism philosophical ideas of Albert Camus in order to enrich and deepen the research on existentialism.
