Abstract

Mental health care for primary school students plays an important part of schoolwork. In the process of growing up, children face many problems in terms of personal psychology, relationships with friends, teachers... Realizing the urgency of psychological counseling for students in schools, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Circular 31/2017/TT-BGDDT dated December 18, 2017 guiding the implementation of mental health counseling for students in high schools. In this article, the authors discuss the mental health problems of primary school students and the principles of psychological counseling according to Carl Rogers' theory to create an atmosphere of safety and trust, supporting students’ self-discovery and self-awareness.
