CARBON TAX - FINANCIAL TOOLS ON AIR POLLUTION CONTROL - LESSONS FOR VIETNAMESE LAW FROM JAPAN

Abstract

Along with the process of urbanization, air pollution is increasing rapidly, becoming a major danger not only for human but also for the ecological environment. At a very early stage, many countries around the world have had variety solutions to reduce air pollution. In addition to technical measures, urban planning etc., the financial instrument is also an effective solution applied by many countries, typically the Carbon tax. Of these countries, Japan is considered a successful nation in the process of reducing air pollution through Carbon tax. Therefore, research on Carbon tax in Japan in an effort to solve the problem of controlling air pollution plays an important lesson for Vietnam.
