Abstract

Ensuring land use rights for ethnic minorities plays a crucial role in sustaining livelihoods, preserving cultural identities, and promoting social equity in Vietnam. This article analyzes the concept of land use rights specific to ethnic minority communities and provides an overview of Vietnam’s land law framework, with a focus on the 2024 Land Law and its key developments compared to previous legislations. The study evaluates the current implementation of land use rights for ethnic minorities, highlighting ongoing challenges and shortcomings. On this basis, the author advances several policy recommendations aimed at safeguarding the land use rights of ethnic minorities in Vietnam in the forthcoming period.
