Protection of folk literary and artistic works under Vietnamese law

Abstract

Folk literary and artistic works are collective creations through work, study and daily life, reflecting the culture and people’s aspirations. They are considered as invaluable heritages of the nation, results of the spiritual creations of our people, which are preserved and promoted through thousands of years. In the context of the global integration, folk literary and artistic works are easily affected by the foreign culture. Therefore, the improvement of legal provisions related to the protection of folk literary and artistic works is an important basis to preserve and promote Vietnam’s cultural identity.
