Analysis strength in plane plate with hole by extended finite element method
Abstract
The Finite element method (FEM) is a powerful analytical tool for solving the problems on stress analysis; however FEM has a difficulty in solving the problems of discontinuities, because of the needs of remeshing and high mesh densities. The extended finite element method (XFEM) was developed to surmount the above-mentioned defect. In this work XFEM is proposed and applied to analysis strength in plate with hole (2D). Calculation results are compared with the results calculated by finite element method (using software ANSYS) about calculation time, elements and accuracy.
