The rise-up of Sir Vo Tru in 1900 in Phu Yen
Abstract
The rise-up of sir Vo Tru which occurred in 1900 in Phu Yen marked a transition towards the religious factors for the patriotic movement in Vietnam. Simultaneously, this was also considered the link marking the transition from the armed struggling at the end of the 19th century to the fights taking the forms of renovation and modernism following the bourgeois ideology at the beginning of the 20th century in Phu Yen in particular and throughout the entire country in general. The article provides a new material resource on the rise-up of Sir Vo Tru, partially contributing in publishing a disclaimer for some shortcomings mentioned in the previous documents regarding the time, location, participants… in this rise-up.
