Abstract

Developing cooperative learning skills at universities plays an extremely vital role in supplying society with high-quality human force, helping learners participate in social life actively and avoid passivity and dependence. Working as English teachers, more than ever, we need to adjust our teaching methods, leading learners to group-work, discussions, and argumentation in order to find out the best solutions to the common problems. With this orientation, we will certainly stimulate learners’ interest in active learning, enlarge their knowledge and bring out stable effects in teaching - learning. The co-operative learning activities at universities are initial steps to set up and cultivate the spirit of community and collectivity for learners, which are very essential factors to strengthen and maintain the market economy of the country.
