Epic – The typical feature of Vietnamese songs in the period 1954 - 1975

Abstract

For twenty-one years (1954-1975), the country was split up into two regions, the people in the north of Viet Nam always united into a mass unanimously devoted to constructing the socialism in the North, fighting against the American imperialists and fighting for the country’s reunification. This political goal governed the entire social, economic and cultural life. Music as well as all other forms of arts and literature, always associated with the spiritual life of the people, especially during the war-time, the period in which mental factors was multiplied to encourage every citizen to contribute their utmost to the survival of the nation. In this article, the author continues to recommed the epics, as typical features of Vietnamese songs in the period 1954-1975.
