The current realities of fisheries in O Loan lagoon, Phu Yen province

Abstract

            The fishery resources in O Loan lagoon, Phu Yen province is quite diverse and abundant. But they have been currently overexploitated by a large number of local residents; Due to this problem, the biological resources and habitats of the aqua species in the lagoon have been severely reduced. Therefore, the exploitation pressure on the water surface area is now on an alarming rate, which requires urgent measures to be taken for effective management on maintaining the resources and environmental protection for sustainable development of the lagoon.
