A study on kinetics and isotherm of Pb2+ ion adsorption from aqueous solutions into natural and modified diatomite from Phu Yen diatomite

Abstract

In this paper, a study on kinetics and isotherm of Pb²⁺ ion adsorption into natural and modified diatomite (Mn-diatomite) from Phu Yen diatomite was demonstrated. The results showed that the pseudo first order model has best described the process of Pb²⁺ ion adsorption into these types of material. The adsorption of Pb²⁺ ion into these types of material meets Langmuir isotherm model. The adsorption capacity toward Pb²⁺ ion of two types of material was also investigated and resulted that Mn-diatomite was showed about 4 times higher effective in comparison with natural diatomite.
