Teaching and Doing Research in Chemistry in Phu Yen University Serving for the Socio-Economic Development in Phu Yen Province and Southern Central and Western Highlands Region up to 2020 and Vision to 2030

Abstract

Teaching and doing research in chemistry in Phu Yen University, serving for the socio-economic development in Phu Yen province and Southern Central and Western Highlands Region is one of the major tasks, mentioned in the scientific discussions by the world of chemistry lecturers, particularly in the current context of globalization and international cooperation. This article presents an overview on the social demands in the field of chemistry; assesses the competence of teaching and doing research in chemistry to meet the current demands, simultaneously mentions some potential areas in which the chemistry branch of Phu Yen University can be transformed towards a broader, deeper and more effective capacity to meet the above-mentioned demands if there is a possible system of solutions.
