Abstract
The conditions of natural geography, economic and social situations with the policy to the sea by Nguyen Lords in the XVIII- XIX centuries, together with the advantage of international shipping routes across the region promoted the formation and development of a system of relatively prosperous trading ports, stretching across the Southern Central coast from Binh Dinh to Binh Thuan. The inevitability of the formation and development of the port cities here demonstrated the major of local economy as well as transshipment positions that could not be ignored on the trading way connecting between the kingdoms of the sea.
