Abstract

Promoting Pedagogical Competence for the Teaching Staff – A Key Solution to Improve the Quality of Teacher Training in Phu Yen University

The pedagogical competence of higher education in general and the one of teaching staff at teacher training institutes in particular is one of the urgent problems to overcome in Viet Nam at present.

Based on MOET’s evaluation of the current realities of pedagogical competence of teaching staff  all over the country; and on the 29th Revolution of the Party’ s Central Executive Committee (8th Session) dated on November 4th 2013 regarding the radical and comprehensive renovation on education and training, the article presents the current realities and directions for improving the quality of pedagogical competence for the teaching staff in general and for the pedagogical staff of Phu Yen University in particular.
