APPLYING WHATSAPP TO PROMOTE ENGLISH COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS FOR STUDENTS MAJORED IN LINGUISTICS AT PHU YEN UNIVERSITY

Abstract

This research aims at evaluating students’ feedback on applying WhatsApp as an online learning platform for promoting EFL students’ communicative skills. The findings revealed that students showed great interest and support on this WhatsApp application in their classroom activities for communicative-skill development as well as in their self-study work. The integration of multi technological applications in WhatsApp for retrieving and accessing tremendous learning material resources, participating in interactive activities, performing assignments and tests... all has indeed brought about a huge range of significant academic experiences to the students. In the field of education, this study confirms the effectiveness and potential applications of WhatsApp in training and developing English communicative skills for EFL students.
