Abstract

This article addresses several issues related to the role and strategic position of Sa Pa as a tourism city within the Northwest region's tourism urban network. Simultaneously, it analyzes the structural framework and issues impacting the urban landscape… From there, it seeks to answer the question: what kind of spatial structure framework should Sa Pa as a tourism city be planned for development to ensure long-term sustainability under the impact of rapid tourism development and urbanization?

The rapid development of Sa Pa as a tourism city in recent years has created significant challenges and negative impacts on the landscape, environment, local culture, and other tourism resources of Sa Pa. This has led to a reduction in the unique characteristics of tourism products and the attractiveness to tourists. In particular, under the pressure of economic development and the attractiveness of investment driven by market demand, the spatial structure of Sa Pa's tourist city tends to change, lack stability, and waste land resources during the expansion of urban construction and tourism projects. Therefore, the question arises: what kind of spatial structure framework should Sa Pa's tourist city be planned to ensure long-term sustainability under the impact of tourism development and rapid urbanization?
