Hoa Hảo Buddhism in Vinh Long Province

Abstract

Hoa Hao Buddhism was introduced into Vinh Long since 1945. Through over half a century of existence and development, with many ups and downs, most of Hoa Hao Buddhist followers feel ensured in following their religious belief, while actively participating to productive labour, to improve their living conditions, and they are more and more confident in the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and attached to the Vietnamese nation. Apart from carring the cult, Hoa Hao Buddhist believers in Vinh Long province still are very interested in charitable social activities like helping the poor, persons in difficult situations out of diseases, natural calamities, misfortunes in their lives. Up to now, Hoa Hao Buddhism in Vinh Long province has had a stable personal organization with representative committees from the province to precincts, district cities where many believers are living. Hoa Hao Buddhist believers of Vinh Long province also are actively participating to activities of socio-political organizations of the locality.
