Abstract

This article studies the surface quality of machine parts after oscillating smoothing. The surface quality of the part after pressing is evaluated by measuring the roughness, hardness, residual stress, micro-hardness and grain structure. The research results show that the surface of the part after oscillating smoothing Ra is reduced by about 7 times, while Rz is reduced by about 5 times. Residual compressive stress is formed in the surface layer of the part and tensile residual stress in the interior near the central region. The grain size change occurred only in the surface layers, in the axial direction of the sample the particles decreased on average by 32-34% and in the radial direction by 35-37%. The microscopic hardness of the surface layer increases by an average of 25%, the depth of the surface hardening process of the part is 0,55 – 0,60 mm.
