Abstract

This paper investigates the impact of driving modes (Normal, Eco, Sport) on the fuel consumption of a Toyota Vios 2020 manual transmission car. The study was conducted on the route from Campus 1 to Campus 2 of Sao Do University, under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Data was simulated using Carsim software, detailing throttle time, gear shifting, and clutch usage for each driving mode. Results show that Eco mode optimizes fuel efficiency with longer operation times and more effective engine control. In contrast, Sport mode increases fuel consumption due to quicker actions, requiring the engine to operate at higher power. These analyses provide deeper insights into the relationship between driving behavior and fuel consumption, aiding in optimizing manual transmission vehicle usage.
