ENHANCING SELF-STUDY COMPETENCE OF CHEMISTRY FOR 10TH GRADERS USING SELF-STUDY EXERCISES FOR REACTION RATE AND CHEMICAL EQUILIBRIUM
Abstract
Self-study competence of students is a matter of great importance in teaching today. The development of self-study exercises to improve the self-study competence for students will improve the quality of teaching chemistry in high schools. The article presents the concept of self-study and self-study exercises in chemistry and suggests three measures to use self-study exercises of reaction rate and chemical equilibrium to enhance the self-study competence of chemistry for 10th graders. In addition, the article also presents the Self-study Competency Framework and self-study competence assessment tools through Chemistry self-study exercises. It can be concluded that the practices demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed measures.
