Abstract

The purpose of this study was to propose a model to evaluate student satisfaction in physical education at Saigon University. A model with six factors was developed, including teaching and learning facilities, lecturers, training process, support services, curriculum, and achievements, with acceptable reliability, suitability, and feasibility. Theresults showed that the facilities (28,12%) and support services (20,24%) were the two factors affecting student satisfaction the most, while achievements factor was the the one with the lowest evaluation (5,21%). The article also suggests six solutions to enhance student retention rate and reduce student dropout rate which are appropriate to the context of the university. However, these factors were only able to explain 30,6% of student satisfaction. Therefore, future studies should be focused on other factors such as the family and social background of students as well as research on best practices at different universities to find out factors most affecting student satisfaction.
