THE EMPEROR CHARACTER IN THE LITERARURE OF POLITICAL COMMENTARY IN THE MEDIEVAL TIMES OF VIETNAM FROM THE TENTH CENTURY TO THE FIFTEENTH CENTURY
Abstract
The literature of political commentary is one of the important parts of Vietnamese literature. It is closely associated with the political culture of Vietnam. During the time of building and defending the country, this literature is its companion with great national events. Especially, it is able to express the thoughts of Vietnamese people through each historical period deeply, mainly via the emperor characters. The period from the tenth century to the fifteenth century is considered as a golden age of the Vietnamese political commentary literature in the medieval times. The article provides an overview of the emperor character's features in the Vietnamese literature of political commentary from the tenth century to the fifteenth century such as emperor's power words to affirm the standing of his country and people, or he reigned his people with ideology of moral government, righteousness, and people of Confucianism.
