SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF TAY NGUYEN ECONOMIC REGION IN THE SENSE OF ETHNIC SOCIAL ORGANIZATION

Abstract

Tay Nguyen has an important strategic position for the socio-economic development and the development of security in Vietnam. Therefore, the formulation and consolidation of the system of policies for the sustainable development in Tay Nguyen, especially the sustainable development in the sense of ethnic social organization are always one of the priorities of the Vietnam Communist Party and The Government. Based on the fieldworks in the M’drak district of Dak Lak province in November and December 2019, comparing the Party’s guidelines on sustainable development in Tay Nguyen in recent years, the article identifies the role and influence of the ethnic social organization in Tay Nguyen today in terms of economy, political security, and culture. The paper also proposes basic and strategic solutions on the capacity of ethnic minority staff, “mobilizing people” among the ethnic minorities, especially on the promotion of the elements of the traditional village self-governing organization under new circumstances. The paper also confirms that sustainable development of Tay Nguyen economic region in the sense of ethnic social organization is not only for economic purposes but also to fulfill the humanistic goals of the socialism in Vietnam.
