Progressive Values in Contemporary Theories of International Relations

Theories are of great significance partly because of the values they contribute to practice. In theories of international relations, the most prominent values that have become increasingly prevalent in both national and international affairs include peace, respect for national sovereignty, democracy, and human-centered concerns. This article examines these values within several contemporary theories of international relations to clarify this perspective.
