Solutions to Improve the Construction Quality after Covid-19 Pandemic
Abstract
Construction quality management is crucial for the success of construction projects. However, the construction quality depends on various factors, including project implementation time, the skills of construction personnel, materials, cash flow, and project schedule. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the Covid-19 epidemic a dangerous global public health emergency. In Vietnam, the government has declared a state of emergency to address the situation, which has significantly affected most sectors of society, including the construction industry. The construction quality during this period has been severely affected by supply chain disruptions, a lack of high-quality personnel, etc. Therefore, this study analyzes the factors influencing the construction quality during and after the Covid-19 pandemic. After the literature review, the research conducted a preliminary survey with experts, an industry-wide survey of construction project stakeholders, and a statistical analysis of 122 responses, identifying four main groups of factors affecting project quality post-pandemic. Finally, the study proposes practical solutions to assist project stakeholders in ensuring and enhancing the construction quality in the event of a similar pandemic situation in the future.
