Overview of Construction Bidding in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024

Abstract

Construction bidding activities in Ho Chi Minh City play a crucial role in infrastructure development and investment attraction. With the rapid pace of urbanization and the increasing demand for transportation systems, housing, and public facilities, ensuring a transparent and efficient bidding process is essential for optimal budget allocation and fostering a healthy competitive environment among construction enterprises. In recent years, particularly in 2024, public investment policies and e-bidding mechanisms have been further promoted to enhance transparency, efficiency, and budget savings. E-bidding not only simplifies procedures but also helps reduce corruption, thereby improving the effectiveness of capital utilization. This scientific paper aims to analyze the construction bidding situation in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024. The study utilizes secondary data from the National Bidding Information Portal, focusing on construction bidding packages with a value of at least 1 billion VND under public projects in Ho Chi Minh City. The data collection period spans from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. Key information analyzed includes the number of bidding packages conducted, total contract value, bidding success rate, list of participating contractors, level of competition in each bidding package, and price reduction trends in bidding. The data is aggregated and analyzed using statistical methods to assess the construction bidding landscape in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024. The use of objective data from the National Data Portal ensures accuracy and reflects the actual market situation. This paper provides specific statistical data to offer a comprehensive overview of public construction projects in Ho Chi Minh City in the upcoming period.
