Application of hardening soil model in plaxis 3D to estimate the bearing capacity of bored piles

Abstract

For constructions using pile foundations, the bearing capacity of piles is an important input parameter in foundation design. Current Vietnamese standards have guided many methods for estimating the bearing capacity of vertical single piles; however, the advanced finite element method has not been instructed for application. This article uses the finite element method using Plaxis 3D software to simulate and compare with the results of static pile compression tests, thereby evaluating the reliability and applicability of the method in practice.
