Vietnamese traditional architecture: From cultural identity to integration capacity
Abstract
This article analyzes Vietnamese traditional architecture from the perspective of cultural identity to the capacity for integration. First, architectural identity is identified as an essential component of national culture, reflecting the creativity and adaptability of the Vietnamese people throughout history. Drawing upon international, academic, and legal foundations, the article affirms the sustainable value of traditional architecture in preserving cultural identity and providing a basis for modern development. It then highlights the significance of architectural identity in building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity, promoting the role of architecture in social life, and contributing to human and societal development. On this basis, the article examines the integration capacity of Vietnamese architecture in the context of globalization, reflected in the balance between tradition and modernity, the selective absorption of international achievements, and the preservation of national identity, thereby affirming the position of Vietnamese architecture in the global arena.
