Human Resource Challenges in Preserving and Developing Traditional Crafts in Cao Bang Non Nuoc Geopark
Abstract
To preserve and develop traditional handicrafts associated with tourism, local human resources play a leading role and are one of the major challenges in craft villages. Traditional craft villages in Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark include: Pac Rang hamlet (blacksmithing), Doan Ket hamlet (incense making), and Dia Tren hamlet (Ban paper making) in Phuc Sen commune, Quang Hoa district; Residential Unit 3 (sugarcane making) in Hoa Thuan town, Quang Hoa district; Luong Noi village (brocade weaving) in Ngoc Dao commune, Ha Quang district; and Phia Den hamlet (vermicelli making) in Thanh Cong commune, Nguyen Binh district. This article provides an overview of the human resources in these six craft villages and reflects on the challenges of human resources in preserving and developing traditional crafts. Additionally, it proposes potential solutions to enhance the quality of human resources in these areas of study
