Abstract
The study introduces an approach to ethnic relations in ethnographic and anthropological research through “the stranger” theories. The article is divided into three main sections. The first part provides a brief review of research theories on ethnic relations in the world. The second part discusses the application of theories on ethnic relations in research in Vietnam. The third part presents some theories surrounding the concept of “the stranger” and discusses the applicability of these theories in the study of ethnic relations in our country.
