One of the remarkable ethnic issues in our country today is the connection between ethnic and religious issues. An overview of studies on the religions and beliefs of coastal and island residents in Vietnam shows that there are many researches work on folklore, beliefs, and rituals related to the sea; however, the number of studies on the religions of coastal residents is limited. Notably, there is a gap in research on ethnic-religious relationships in most studies, especially ethnic-religious relations of ethnic groups with different religious subgroups.
