Multidimensional poverty reduction in the period of 2016 - 2020 in Van Don district, Quang Ninh province

Abstract

The article clarifies the multidimensional poverty situation of people in Van Don district, Quang Ninh province in the period 2016 - 2020, based on assessing the aspects of poverty rate, near-poverty rate, and level of access to basic social services, such as education, health, housing, clean water, information, and communication. Researches have shown that the role of poverty reduction programs and policies of the State and the province together with the economic growth in the past five years in the Van Don district has contributed to poverty reduction and improved quality of life for many households here. From the current posing problems, the article proposes some recommendations and solutions to sustainably reduce poverty for residents in the Van Don district in the coming time.
